That the early polling place for early voting <br /> by personal appearance for this election is City Hall, 630 East <br /> Hopkins street in the City, and a temporary branch early polling <br /> place for early voting by personal appearance for this election is <br /> the Schoo 1 Administration Building,S 0 1 S. L. B. J. Drive in the city. <br /> Early voting by personal appearance at City Hall shall bè conducted <br /> during normal working days from May 10, 1993 through May 18, 1993, <br /> and the hours for early voting shall be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br /> Early voting by personal appearance at the School Administration <br /> Building shall be conducted during normal working days from May 10, <br /> 1993 through May 18, 1993, and the hours for early voting shall be <br /> from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 <br /> a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday. <br /> SECTION 9. That early voting by mail ballot shall be conducted <br /> in accordance with applicable provisions of the Texas Election <br /> Code. The address of 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas, <br /> 78666, shall be the early voting clerk's mailing address to which <br /> ballot applications and ballots voted by mail may be sent. <br /> section 10. All early votes and other votes to be processed in <br /> accordance with early voting procedures pursuant to the' Texas <br /> Election Code shall be delivered to the Early voting Ballot Board <br /> at City Hall Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins Street in the City <br /> in accordance with the Election Code. Early votes shall be counted <br /> at the central counting station. The Early Voting Ballot Board <br /> shall perform in accordance with applicable provisions. of the <br /> Election Code. <br /> SECTION 11. That an electronic voting system, as the term is <br /> defined in the Texas Election Code, shall be utilized in <br /> connection with the election. This system shall be utilized for <br /> all early voting as well as for all precinct voting conducted on <br /> election day. Ramona Brown is hereby appointed as programmer, and <br /> she shall prepare a program for the automatic tabulating <br /> equipment. Ample voting equipment shall be provided for early <br /> voting and in each of the various precincts on election day. <br /> The central counting station is est,ablished as the Legal <br /> Department, San Marcos city Hall, 630 East Hopkins. <br /> SECTION 12. That the city Council of the City shall, by <br /> resolution, appoint a presiding judge and alternate judge of the <br /> Early Voting Ballot Board, a Presiding Judge of the Central <br /> Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the Central counting <br /> Station, and a Central Counting station Manager, and any and all <br /> assistants appointed by the Tabulation Supervisor shall be <br /> subject to the approval of the City Council. <br /> SECTION 13. That the election shall be held under, and in <br /> accordance with the provisions of, the Charter and Ordinances of the <br /> City of San Marcos, and in accordance with the laws of the State <br /> of Texas. <br /> SECTION 14.' That a copy of thi~ Ordinance signed by the Mayor <br /> of the City, attested by, the City Secretary and approved by the <br /> City Attorney, shall serve as proper notice of the election. <br /> SECTION 15. That notice of the-election including a spanish <br /> tr.anslation thereof, shall be published at leas.t once ln a <br /> newspaper published in San Marcos on. or after May 3, 1993 and on or <br /> before May 12,. 1993, shall be posted. at ~ public place in each <br /> city election precinct in which the election is to be held on or <br /> before ~ay 7, 1993, and shall be . posted on the bulletin board at <br /> City Hall on or before May 7, 1993. <br /> SECTION 16., That a copy of this Ordinance shall be delivered <br /> on or before May 12, 1993 to the, presiding judge of each <br /> election precinct in which the election is ordered to. be held, <br /> whi'ch' copy shall serve as a notice _or writ of election as <br />
