The system consists of approximately 85 miles of collection lines with 42 lift stations. After treatment, <br /> wastewater is returned to the San Marcos River. <br /> Recent improvements increased the system capacity to serve a projected population of 46,000 in'the year 2000. <br /> Storm water is collected in an entirely separate gravity feed storm sewer system and is completely segregated from th.=: sanitary <br /> sewer system.
