<br /> 63 <br /> <br /> SAN MARCOS CITY COUNCIL <br /> FISCAL YEAR 1993-1994 <br /> Mission Statement <br /> The mission of the City of San Marcos is to assure the residents <br /> ¡ of the City a sense of community, safety and neighborhood <br /> \ integrity by providing needed municipal services, fiscal <br /> responsibility and policy planning for the future. In addition, <br /> the City shall promote flexibility in public/private <br /> partnerships, sound economic development, intergovernmental <br /> cooperation and protection of our natural resources and the <br /> environment. <br /> In compliance with the City Charter, the San Marcos City Council <br /> presents the following policy statement for use by the City <br /> Manager in the preparation of the proposed Fiscal year 1993-1994 <br /> Budget. <br /> Policy Statement <br /> ~ <br /> 1. Provide City Services in a professional, courteous and <br /> efficient manner. <br /> 2. Maintain the highest standard of fiscal and asset <br /> management. <br /> 3. Develop safe and adequate water supplies, expand delivery of <br /> City water service, and employ conservation and water <br /> resource management techniques. <br /> 4. Deliver the highest possible quality of wastewater treatment <br /> and promote the reuse of treated wastewater, and expand <br /> delivery of City wastewater service, with a long-term goal <br /> to build a tertiary treatment plant. <br /> 5. Update water/wastewater plans and enforce City codes <br /> requiring water/wastewater service. <br /> 6. Realize maximum efficiency with an increased budget amount <br /> for street overlay and repair. <br /> 7. Continue participation in the San Marcos-Hays County Drug <br /> Task Force. <br /> 8. Broaden the tax base through economic development and <br /> continue to implement community development to include <br /> neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, youth <br /> activities, parks maintenance and upgrade, River Master <br /> City Hall. 630 East Hopkins.
