Larger projects may be <br />broken into. phases with subsequent requests for each phase. There <br />will be no guarantee or commitment to fund subsequent phases <br />becaus~ the initial phase was funded. <br /> <br />'" <br /> <br />1.4 Mho May Apply?- <br /> <br />a) Units of local government, municipalities, county, or other legal <br />entity of local government, non-profit SOl(c)(3) organizations and <br />other formally organized groups are eligible to apply for grants. <br /> <br /> <br />1.5 1993 Deadline for Grants <br /> <br />a) The closing date for the 1993 grant application is Thursday, <br />July 15th, 1993, at 5:00 p.m. All applications should be mailed <br />to the Texas Forest Service, College Station, Texas 77843-2136, <br />Attention: Edwin H. Barron or delivered to Texas Forest Service, <br />Texas A&M University, Texas State Headquarters Building, <br />301 Tarrow street, Room 363, College Station, Texas 77843-2136. <br /> <br />1.6 Paywents to Grant Recipients ~ <br /> <br />a) The Forest Service reserves the right to make partial payments <br />subject to completion of milestones and schedule agreed to in <br />advance. The project administrator will evaluate the progress of <br />each respective project to determine if the project will be <br />eligible for full funding. <br /> <br /> <br />1.7 Interi. and CO8pletion Reports <br /> <br />a) The program administrator will require periodic reports from <br />grantor as to the progress of specific projects. The schedule and <br />content of these reports will be set in advance of initiating the <br />project. There will be a complete report on completion of the <br />project that documents acco~p1ishments, total expenditures and <br />other information tailored to the needs of specific projects. <br /> <br /> <br />1.8 Products In-lieu of Dollars <br /> <br />a) There may be some tree planting organizations and local <br />governments that would prefer not to receive grants directly. The <br />Forest Service will contract directly with nurseries and/or <br />landscape contractors for plant materials delivered to the site <br />and installed at grantee's option. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2 <br />
