<br /> 1'F <br /> um- and ~ Foreåy ~ QW1f PmsIr- Guid.hs <br /> 1.9 Resolutions by Governing Body for Units of Local Governllent <br /> a) Grants will not be made to units of local government without a <br /> resolution from the respective governing body authorizing the <br /> appropriate representative to execute agreements associated with <br /> the grant request and committing that agency to providing its <br /> share of the cost of the project as described in the grant <br /> application. This same resolution~may include the endorsement . - - <br /> that permits the planting of trees on public property under their <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> 2.0 Agree.ents for Texas. Urban and co..unity Forestry Grant Projects <br /> a) A grant for tree planting w~ll not be funded until a maintenance <br /> agreement and a grant agreement have been between executed the <br /> Texas Forest Service and the applicant. The maintenance agreement <br /> shall.d.etai1 the responsibilities for maintenance of the areas <br /> landscaped or improved by the proposed project. The grant <br /> agreement shall detail the schedule and terms of payment and <br /> matching costs for the proposed project. <br /> 2.1 Avard or Grants by the State Forester <br /> a) The TUFC Grants Committee shall provide the state f6rester a list <br /> of prioritized applications with recommended funding levels <br /> according to a schedule set by the council in consultation with <br /> the state forester. The Texas Forest Service will execute all <br /> necessary agreements. Funds for individual grants will not be <br /> released until all required agreements have been executed. All <br /> funding of grants is contingent on federal appropriations. <br /> 2.2 Execution of Agree.ents and Docullents <br /> a) Once the applicant has accepted th~ grant in writing, the <br /> following shall take place. It will be the responsibility of the <br /> applicant to ensure that all agreements are fully executed within <br /> a period of 45 days after the date of award. Failure to comply <br /> with this schedule will result in the grant offer being <br /> withdrawn. The grant agreement prepared between the applicant and <br /> the Texas Forest Service shall stipulate: <br /> 1) what is to be accomplished with the grant <br /> 2) the schedule and payment terms for the grant <br /> 3) any penalties or actions which the Texas Forest Service will <br /> take in the event of noncompliance by the applicant <br /> 4) the methods to be used by the Texas Forest Service to determine <br /> compliance with the terms of the grant and the agreement <br /> 3 <br />
