<br />IOI <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br />WHEREAS, the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce administers a <br />community Economic Development Program through the Greater San <br />Marcos Economic Development Council; and, <br />~ WHEREAS, the city of San Marcos desires to renew its contract <br />with the Greater San Marcos Economic Development Council and the <br />San Marcos Chamber of Conooerce for fiscal year 1993-94 in order to <br />promote orderly and responsible economic development for the San <br />Marcos geographic area; now, therefore, <br />This agreement is made by and between the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas ("city"), the Greater San Marcos Economic Development Council <br />~ <br />("EDC"), and the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce ("Chamber"). <br />WITNESSETH: <br />I. <br />JOINT OBLIGATIONS OF EDC AND CHAMBER <br />A. EDC and Chamber shall develop an economic development <br />¡ program to enhance the quality of life in San Marcos through the <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ì generation of productive employment opportunities and the expansion <br /> <br />of the economic base by: <br /> <br />1. Involving the San Marcos community through regular <br />contact with elected officials of the City, Hays <br />County, and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent <br />School District, as well as with business and <br />development leaders; <br /> <br />2. Evaluating and researching the ability of San ~ <br />Marcos to attract and retain development; <br /> <br />3. strengthening the ability of San Marcos and the <br />region to attract and retain development through <br />the encouragement of new development and <br /> <br /> <br />I <br />
