123~

B. System Inventory Mapping.

The work in this section will be limited to the skeletonized model portion of
the collection system. This includes pipelines in the existing model database
plus new major pipelines installed since 1987.

1. Numbering System. Establish manhole and structure numbering system
which provides geographic and sewershed identification codes. The
numbering system will be cross-referenced to the existing numbering
system. The new identification numbers will be digitized in the map
prepared under Subtask 3.

2. Inventory Data Base. An inventory database will be created from
the sewer line information in the existing BVSWR model. The database
will include the cross-reference of the existing and new numbering
system. The inventory database will be compatible with the inspection
databases and the Intergraph graphical interface developed during
inspection and mapping subtasks.

3. Digitize Base Map and Interceptors. A digitized composite "wall"
map will be prepared from existing digitized base maps and from existing
interceptor sewer maps. The digitized base map will be in a separate
layer from the interceptor sewer data and will show streets, and major
surface features. This base map is currently available on the City's
Intergragh GIS.

~

The digitized interceptor sewers will be the modeled portion of the
collection system only. Data layers will include the following:

. manhole structures and sewer lines with flow direction arrows

. sewersheds and subsystems
. identification numbers

. pipe diameter, slope and length.
,

The purpose of the map is to show the interceptor system in sufficient
detail for planning and routine maintenance purposes only. Location of
manholes and structures with respect to streets, rights-of-way, and
other structures will be approximate only.

The digitized base map and interceptors will be provided in Intergraph
format. The model and databases developed as part of this project will
be graphically connected to the digitized interceptor sewers.

4. Selective Field Investigation. Selective field checks will be
performed to gain an understanding of questionable routing patterns and
collection system configuration.

5. Establish and Verify Flow Monitoring Points. A field review of the
metering sites will confirm accessibility and the adequacy of the sites
from a hydraulic and engineering standpoint. Each proposed metering
site will be inspected to ensure wastewater flow rates can be accurately
recorded. Minor debris or sediment that would influence the

06/02/93

A-7
