<br /> parking spaces. No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a <br /> handicapped parking space unless authorized to do so under <br /> state law. <br /> Sec. 29-41. Stopping, standing or parking on a roadway. <br /> It shall be unlawful for a person to stop, park, or leave <br /> standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, upon <br /> the main-traveled part of a street, in such a manner or under <br /> such conditions as to leave available less than fourteen (14) <br /> feet of the width of the street for the free movement of <br /> vehicles. <br /> Sec. 29-42. One way streets. <br /> On one way streets, no person shall stand or park a vehicle <br /> upon the left-hand side of such street unless signs are <br /> erected under authority granted by ordinance to permit such <br /> standing or parking. <br /> Sec. 29-43. Parking limited by specific time. <br /> When signs or markings are placed on a public street or in a <br /> public area giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, <br /> stand, or park a vehicle for a period of time longer than the <br /> time indicated on the signs or marking s. These areas shall <br /> be described by separate ordinance and shall be maintained in <br /> the traffic register. A separate violation of this section <br /> shall be deemed committed for each period of time, regardless <br /> of whether the violations occur on a single day and at the <br /> same location. <br /> Sec. 29-44. Tow-away zones. <br /> Notwithstanding any provision of this Chapter, any street or <br /> alley in the City, or part thereof, may be designated as a <br /> tow-away zone by separate ordinance. <br /> See 29-45. Presumption regarding person Who parked vehicle. <br /> In any prosecution charging a violation of any law governing <br /> the standing or parking of a vehicle under this Chapter, <br /> proof that the vehicle described in the complaint was <br /> standing or parked in violation of such law, together with <br /> proo f that the defendant named in the complaint was, at the <br /> time of the violation, the registered owner of the vehicle, <br /> shall create a prima facie presumption that the defendant was <br /> the person who caused or permitted the vehicle to stand or be <br /> parked at the point where, and for the time during which, the <br /> violation occurred. A defendant may introduce evidence, as <br /> a defense, to show that the vehicle was parked by a person <br /> other than the defendant as charged in the complaint. <br /> Sec. 29-46. Violations of parking laws notice to be attached to <br /> vehicle. <br /> (a) Whenever any motor vehicle without a driver is found <br /> parked or stopped in violation of this article, any <br /> ordinance of this city or state law, the officer finding <br /> such vehicle may take its registration number and may <br /> take any other information displayed on the vehicle which <br /> may identify its owner or operator, and shall <br /> conspicuously affix to such vehicle a notice in writing, <br /> for the operator to answer to the charge against him at <br /> The municipal court. <br /> (b) If a violator, as described in subsection (a) of this <br /> Section, does not appear to response to a notice affix to <br /> such vehicle within a period of ten (lØ) days, the clerk <br /> of the municipal court shall send to the registered owner <br /> -9- <br />
