Parking near hazardous or congested places; parking <br /> or loitering near scene of accident. <br /> (a) The traffic engineer is hereby authorized to determine <br /> and designate by signs or markings places in which the <br /> stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles would create <br /> an especially hazardous condition or would cause unusual <br /> delay to traffic. <br /> (b) When official signs or markings are placed at hazardous <br /> or congested places as authorized herein, it shall be <br /> unla...vful for a person to stop, stand, or park a vehicle <br /> in any such designated place. <br /> (c) It shall be unlawful for a person, not involved in the <br /> accident, to loiter or remain within one hundred (IØØ) <br /> feet of any vehicle involved in an accident, except at <br /> the request or authorization of a peace officer. <br /> (d) It shall be unlawful for a person to park or stand a <br /> vehicle within one hundred (IØØ) feet of a police or fire <br /> line except at the request or authorization of a police <br /> officer or fire official at the scene. <br /> (e) It shall be unlawful for a person to drive a vehicle <br /> across a police or fire line except at the request or <br /> authorization of a police officer or fire official at the <br /> scene. <br /> See.. 29-38.. Curb loading zones. <br /> (a) The traffic engineer is hereby authorized to determine <br /> the location of curb-loading zones and shall place and <br /> maintain appropriate signs or marking s indicating the <br /> same and stating the hours during which they are <br /> applicable. <br /> (b) No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle for any <br /> purpose or period of time other than for the expeditious <br /> loading or unloading of passengers or freight in any <br /> place officially designated by signs or markings as a <br /> curb loading zone during hours when the regulations <br /> applicable to the curb-loading zone are effective. <br /> Sec. 29-39.. Public carrier stops and stands.. <br /> (a) The traffic engineer is hereby authorized and requîred to <br /> establish bus stops, bus stands, taxicab stands, and <br /> stands for other public carrier motor vehicles, on public <br /> streets, in places and in a number as the engineer shall <br /> determine to be of the greatest benefit and convenience <br /> to the public, and every bus stop, bus stand, taxicab <br /> stand, or other stand shall be designated by appropriate <br /> signs or markings. <br /> (b) The operator of a public carrier shall not stand or park <br /> the vehicle upon any street at any place other than a <br /> designated stand, except as provided in subsection (c). <br /> (c) The operator of a taxicab or limousine shall not stand or <br /> park the vehicle upon any street at any place other than <br /> in a stand designated as provided herein, except for the <br /> purpose of and while actually engaged in the expeditious <br /> loadîng or unloading of passengers. <br /> Sec. 29-4Ø Handicapped parking spaces.. <br /> The traffic engineer is hereby authorized to determine the <br /> location for handicapped parking spaces and shall place and <br /> maintain appropriate signs and markings indicating such <br /> -8- <br />
