<br /> ARTICLE III. P.A.RKING <br /> Sec. 29-31. Backing into spaces. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to back a vehicle, other <br /> than a motorcycle, into any parking space on a public street <br /> designated for angle parking or head-in parking within the <br /> city. <br /> Sec. 29-32. Trailers <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to stand or park any <br /> vehicle having attached thereto a trailer, and the overall <br /> length of the vehicle and tr.ailer is nineteen (19) feet or <br /> more, on any street where angle parking is designated. <br /> Sec. 29-33. Parking in alleys. <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for a person to park a vehicle and <br /> leave it unattended within an alley in such a manner or <br /> under such conditions as to leave available less than ten <br /> (lØ) feet of the width of the alley for the free movement <br /> of vehicles, except for the active and expeditious <br /> loading and unloading of freight~ <br /> (b) It shall be unlawful for a person to stop, stand, or park <br /> a vehicle within an alley in such posi tion as to block a <br /> driveway entrance to any abutting property. <br /> Sec. 29-34. Parking commercial vehicles in residential area. <br /> It shall be unlawful for a person to allow a commercial <br /> vehicle larger than one ( l) ton capacity to be parked on a <br /> street in any residential district for a period of more than <br /> thirty (3Ø) minutes, except during the process of loading and <br /> unloading. <br /> Sec. 29-35. Parking for certain purposes prohibited. <br /> It shall be unlawful for a person to park a vehicle upon any <br /> street for the purpose of: <br /> (a) Displaying such vehicle for sale~ or <br /> (b) Repairing such vehicle, except repairs necessitated by an <br /> emergency. <br /> Sec. 29-36. Parallel and angle parking. <br /> (a) The city council shall determine upon which streets angle <br /> parking shall be permitted and shall mark or sign such <br /> streets, but such angle parking shall not be indicated <br /> upon any federal-aid or state high\.¡ay within this city <br /> unless the state highway engineer has determined that the <br /> roadway is of sufficient width to permit angle parking <br /> without interfering with the free movement of traffic. <br /> Angle parking shall not be indicated or permitted at any <br /> place where passing traffic would thereby be caused or <br /> required to drive upon the left side of the street or <br /> upon any railway tracks. <br /> (b) Upon those streets which have been signed or marked for <br /> angl.e parking, no person shall park or stand a vehicle <br /> other than at the angle to the curb or edge of the <br /> roadway indicated by such signs or markings. <br /> (c) \Vhenever parking spaces are marked by lines on the <br /> pavement, whether for parallel or angle parking, a <br /> vehicle must be parked entirely within the lines of the <br /> parking space. <br /> -7- <br />
