<br />75 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />february 9, 1981 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />A copy of the statement concerning the Mayor Pro-Tern's abstintion from <br />the vote is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tern introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />first reading of a proposed zoning of 30 acres out of the River Run <br />Subdivision, located on River Road, from "AO" (Agricultural-Open Space <br />District) to IID" (Multi-Family Dwelling District). Bob Boyd, the <br />applicant, addressed the Council about the proposed zoning. Mr. Boyd <br />said he was willing to give the City the right-of-way requested and hoped <br />that he could be connected to the water line at Ed Salinas's property. <br />He was willing to exchange the cost of construction of septic tanks <br />for being hooked up to a sewer line. The City Manager stated that the <br />staff had already done alot of work on the utility question. No one <br />else wished to speak either for or against the proposed zoning, there- <br />fore the Mayor Pro-Tern closed the public hearing. The City Secretary <br />then read the Ordinance in its entirety, the caption of which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AJ1ENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br />AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 30 <br />ACRES OUT OF THE RIVER RUN SUBDIVISION, LOCATED ON RIVER ROAD, <br />FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO liD" (MULTI- <br />FM~ILY DWELLING DISTRICT). <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading. <br />seconded the motio~, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tern introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />first reading of an Ordinance zoning 0.31 acres out of J.M. Veramendi <br />League No. One, located on Hunter Road, from "AO" (Agricultural-Open <br />Space District) to "C" (Commercial). John Hansen, the applicant, addressed <br />the Council about the requested zoning. No one else wished to speak <br />either for or against the proposed zoning. The Mayor Pro-Tern then <br />closed the public hearing. The City Secretary read the Ordinance in <br />its entirety, the caption of which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br />AND LAND, DA'l'ED SEPTEMBER 29,1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 0.31 <br />ACRES OUT OF THE J.M. VERAl~ENDI LEAGUE NO. ONE, LOCATED ON <br />HUNTER ROAD, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) TO <br />II C II (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading. <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Tarbutton <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tern introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />first reading of an Ordinance changing the zoning of Lot 6 in Block 2 <br />of the C.L. McGehee Addition, from "R-l" (Single Family Residential) <br />to "TH" (Townhouse). Jake Krauskopf, agent for the applicant, stated that <br />the applicant had requested that this item be withdrawn from the agenda. <br />Mrs. Norris moved to table this item indefinitely. Mr. Tarbutton seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. No one wished to speak either for <br />or against the proposed zoning change. The Mayor Pro-Tern then closed the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />The Hayor Pro-Tern introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first <br />reading reducing the number of members on the Airport Commission, <br />read in its entirety, the caption of which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 31-3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS BY DECREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON <br />THE SAN ]\1ARCOS AIRPORT COMMISSION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />
