<br />The Project <br /> <br />With the proceeds of the Bonds, the City plans to upgrade its present water and sewer facilities, and pay the costs of issuance <br />incurred with the issuance of the Bonds. <br /> <br />Wastewater System <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos currently owns and operates one wastewater treatment facility with a present combined permitted <br />capacity of 6.25 MGD. The system consists of approximately 85 miles of collection lines with 42 life stations. After treatment, <br />wastewater is returned to the San Marcos River. <br /> <br />Recent improvements increased the system capacity to serve a projected population of 46,000 in the year 2000. <br /> <br />Storm water is collected in an entirely separate gravity feed storm sewer system and is completely segregated from the sanitary <br />sewer system.
