date. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott and a second by Council Member <br />Thomaides, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve Ordinance <br />2013 -23, as previously captioned. The motion carried. <br />25.Consider an appointment to the Human Service Advisory Board to fill a vacancy, and <br />provide direction to Staff. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott and a second by Council Member <br />Porterfield ,the City Council voted six (6) for, one (1) absent from the dais, Council Member <br />Prather, and none (0) opposed, to approve the appointment of Lynn Thompson. The motion <br />carried. <br />26.Hold discussion regarding the Neijhborhood Commission, and provide direction to <br />Staff. <br />Neighborhood Commission Chair, Elena Duran led a discussion regarding the charge, sector <br />composition, and various items pertaining to the commission. The Council provided direction to <br />Staff to Review Census data to see if representative number needs to be adjusted, fill positions <br />for Sector 4 & 7 (May 7th meeting), consider adding CONA rep as independent representative, <br />Amend the ordinance to add Community Service is responsible department, adjust Web Site to <br />make it easier for public to find Neighborhood Commission information and to send minutes of <br />Neighborhood Commission meetings to Council. <br />27.Question and Answer Session with Press and Public <br />None. <br />28.Adi ournment <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott and a second by Council Member <br />Porterfield, the City Council voted (7) for and none (0) opposed, to adjourn the regular meeting <br />of the San Marcos City Council at 9:44 p.m. on April. 2, 2013.
