from LDR Low Density Residential to P Public for a 2.01 acre, more or less, tract of land, being lot 1 of the Craddock Avenue subdivision located in the 1100 block of Craddock Avenue; amending the Official Zoning Map of the City by rezoning this tract from SF -6 Single - Family Residential District to P Public and Institutional District; and including procedural provisions; and consider approval of Ordinance 2013 -24, Matthew Lewis, Director of Development Services, provided a brief presentation. Mayor Daniel Guerrero opened the public hearing at 7:44 p.m. Dan Gibson, San Marcos, addressed the Council on. behalf of the Church regarding this item and asked that the Council approve this request. He addressed concerns that have been brought up through letters of opposition; primarily the impervious cover percentage of potential 80 %. Kyle (inaudible), 1022 W. MLK, addressed the Council and asked for the approval of this zoning change. Camille Phillips, San Marcos, addressed the Council and wished that these lots had been sold for single family use. Spoke in support of this item. Jeanie Lewis, 1315 Lazy Lane, addressed the Council as a founding member of the church and asked that the council approve this request. She addressed the fact that they have been established for 25 years and the fact that they are stable and environmentally responsible. She asked for the Council's positive consideration. Zach Thomas, 1754 Bishop St, addressed the Council regarding the churches request and asked that they consider approval of this request. There being no further comments; the public hearing was closed at 7:51 p.m. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Council Member Scott and a second by Council Member Prather, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to approve Ordinance 2013- 24, as previously captioned. The motion carried unanimously.
