Revisions had been made by staff members in the <br /> Parks and Recreation Department and Library and the Planning Commis- <br /> sion was recommending the Council consider changing low density from <br /> 0-4 per acre to 0-6, medium density from 4-12 per acre to 6-12 per <br /> acre and high density to remain the same. Mayor Craddock directed <br /> that the revisions recommended by Staff in the Parks and Recreation <br /> and Library Departments be submitted to the Planning Commission for <br /> their consideration and for their recommendations to come to the <br /> Council as soon as possible. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br /> on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, ADOPTING A MASTER PLAN FOR SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS; REPEALING THE 1970 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR SAID <br /> CITY; REQUIRING A PUBLIC HEARING PRIOR TO AMENDMENT OF <br /> THE MASTER PLAN AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mrs. Norris moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading (not <br /> including the above-referenced revisions) and Mr. Kreczmer seconded <br /> the motion. Mel Lacqument of Freese and Nichols addressed the Council, <br /> stating density should be addressed in the Zoning Ordinance rather than <br /> on the general land use plan. He then reviewed with the Council two <br /> charts, one stating the Typical Development Standards with the mini- <br /> mum lot size requirements, building area square footage and typical <br /> density and another chart showing zoning categories, land use with <br /> lot, structure and site requirements. PeeWee Doughtery answered the Council's <br /> questions regarding the comparison of San Marcos' rates with other <br /> cities.
