<br /> 9?J <br /> Section 2.30 - Vacancies: <br /> The Human Resources Department will announce all position vacancies. The City will seek <br /> to obtain the most capable person available to perform a particular job without regard to race, <br /> religion, color, sex, age (over forty (40), disability (if otherwise qualified), or national origin. <br /> The recruitment procedure used by the City is as follows: <br /> 1. The notice of the position vacancy will be posted on the bulletin board outside City <br /> Hall and on department bulletin boards for a period of five (5) working days. <br /> Directors and supervisors must not discourage employees from applying for any <br /> position. Any employee who has successfully completed the introductory period <br /> may apply for an opening by submitting an application to the Human Resources <br /> Department prior to the in-house closing date. <br /> 2. Following the five (5) day in-house posting, if a City employee is not selected to fill <br /> the position, the vacancy will be announced to the general public in conformance <br /> with the City's Affirmative Action Plan. In order to be considered, applications <br /> and/or resumes must be received by the Human Resources Department Drior to the <br /> posted deadline. <br /> If there are no qualified in-house applicants known to the Human Resources Department for <br /> ~ <br /> the position, the in-house and outside announcement of the position may be done <br /> concurrently. <br /> Section 2.40 - Screening/Selection: <br /> All applications will be reviewed for completeness and required qualifications (degrees, <br /> , <br /> licenses, certificates, etc.) by the Human Resources Department Staff. Those applicants who <br /> meet the required criteria will be considered in the selection process. Depending upon the <br /> position vacancy and qualifications required, internal and external candidates may be <br /> considered concurrently. <br /> Applicants will be disqualified for any of the reasons listed below: <br /> 1.
