Bibb Underwood, 1301 Brown Street, addressed the Council regarding the Scheib Center's <br />funding request of $200,000, and explained how the Center will be a vital resource if and when <br />legislation is passed regarding mental illness screening in order to purchase a gun. <br />Tricia Schneider, CASA Central Texas, addressed the Council regarding CASA's request for <br />$25,000 and asked for positive consideration. She continued by providing the Council with an <br />update on CASA of Central Texas' activities and asked that the Council fund their request. <br />Rubin Garza, Southside Community Center, addressed the Council regarding their request to <br />fund their housing rehabilitation program and their request of $100,000. <br />Lisa Spencer, 100 E. Mimosa Circle, addressed the Council regarding the Scheib Center's <br />request for funding of $200,000. She provided the Council with a brief overview of their request <br />and the services in which the Scheib Center provides. She asked the Council to consider their <br />request positively. <br />Gene Martin, San Marcos Housing Authority, addressed the Council regarding their request to <br />fund the scholarship for the Parks and Rec Department in the amount of $40,000. He provided a <br />brief overview of the project and services provided, and asked the Council to fund their request. <br />Michelle Harper, United Way of Hays County, addressed the Council regarding the United Way <br />of Hays County's request for funding in the amount of $11,667 to add a new mentoring program. <br />She provided an overview of the program and the services in which the program would offer, <br />and asked that the Council fund their request. <br />Ed Kuny, 212 Sierra Ridge Dr, addressed the Council regarding the Scheib Center's request and <br />asked that the Council positively consider their request for $200,000. <br />Gary Smith, 101 Sierra Ridge Dr, addressed the Council regarding the Scheib Center's request <br />and asked that the Council positively consider their request for $200,000. <br />Todd Derkacz, President of the Greenbelt Alliance, addressed the Council to consider getting <br />involved with the Willow Springs drainage project. He requested CDBG funds in the amount of <br />$25,000 for the creation of a 1 mile paved trail between Willow Springs Park and HEB Park. It <br />would serve as a safe and convenient place for people in that area to walk. <br />There being no further comments; the public hearing was closed at 1:09 p.m. <br />4. Receive a Staff update and hold discussion regarding the Gas Lamp Public <br />Improvement District project. <br />Matthew Lewis, Planning and Development Director, provided a brief presentation and update <br />on the Gas Lamp Public Improvement District Project.
