<br /> Methods-cont,page 2 <br /> * INCREASE EMPLOYMENT FOR 25% OF HOMELESS CLIENTS AND AT RISK <br /> GROUPS- Contact local corporations and businesses to develop <br /> a job placement service program within these corporations and <br /> businesses. With local efforts and assistance from counselors, <br /> train clients to prepare their application, appearance and <br /> conduct for the interview process. Additionally, incorporate <br /> clients who qualify into the local Gary Job Corporation <br /> administered by the federal government. Some clients will have to <br /> complete their education requirements. Counselor would, <br /> therefore, assist client with the accomplishment of GED <br /> requirements with the assistance of the local Learning Resource <br /> Center. <br /> * DECREASE THE USAGE OF DRUG AND ALCOHOL DEPENDENCY AMONG 20% OF <br /> HOMELESS AND AT RISK CLIENTS - Counsel individuals on a one to <br /> one basis. Clients will attend Narcotics Anonymous and/or <br /> Alcohol Anonymous meetings. Develop an awareness program for <br /> at risk groups informing them of alternative life styles. When <br /> needed refer clients into more extensive programs. <br /> * DECREASE THE DEPENDENCY ON GOVERNMENTAL, SOCIAL SERVICE, AND <br /> MENTAL HEALTH AGENCIES - With the establishment by the <br /> counselor of support groups, job training, treatment for drug <br /> and alcohol abuse, and prevention activities clients should <br /> become self dependent. <br /> Page 6 <br />
