D. Market
The music recording industry has been growing steadily
in Texas over the last fifteen years. While several small
recording studios have been established in central and South
Texas, few have the state of the art equipment and capability
to produce quality audio/video recordings that are being
proposed. These features will enhance the marketability of
professional musicians using this studio. Because of the
proximity to South Texas, the studio will be marketed to the
growing number of Hispanic musicians. Availability of
technical expertise from university faculty and students in
advertising and commercial music, will enable costs
associated with rental of the studio and development of
promotional materials to be kept to a minimum. This in turn
will encourage low-income business to use the studio and
develop promotional campaigns for their products, ultimately
benefiting the economic health of the State.
Again, as Southwest Texas State university strengthens
working relationships with Hispanic music promoters and
marketing and advertising agencies such as So sa and
Associates the ultimate outcomes will be employment
opportunities for students and increasing revenues for the
Support Foundation to develop other markets that can be
cultivated using the technical expertise of the faculty and
staff at the center.
E.
