<br /> -2- <br /> SECTION 4. That Section 9-4.2 of the San Marcos Code of <br />Ordinances is hereby amended to delete the last sentence <br />regarding testing validation. <br /> SECTION s. That Section 9-4.3 of the San Marcos Code of <br />Ordinances is hereby amended by deleting subsection (b) in <br />its entirety, and by relettering subsections (c) through (j) <br />of such Section as (b) through (i), respectively. <br /> SECTION 6. That subsections (b), (c) and (d) of Section <br />9-4.3 of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances are hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> (b) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to <br /> prevent or require a master electrician to be an <br /> electrical contractor. An electrical contractor may <br /> employ a master electrician in an employer-employee <br /> relationship on a full-time permanent basis. The master <br /> electrician shall supervise, direct and control the <br /> electrical work for the electrical contractor for whom <br /> the master electrician is employed. The master <br /> electrician sha 11 register the electrical contractor <br /> with the City of San Marcos Electrical Board as his <br /> employer. Upon termination of the employer-employee <br /> relationship, notice shall be given to the Chief <br /> Building Official wi thin five days from the date of <br /> termination by the master electrician. Such termination <br /> by the employer of services of the master electrician <br /> shall not terminate the responsibility of the master <br /> electrician and the employer for completion of the <br /> electrical work for which a city permit was obtained. A <br /> master electrician shall not master for more than one <br /> electrical contractor at the same time. <br /> ( c) No license shall be issued for more than one year. <br /> A license may be renewed from year to year upon <br /> application of the holder. All licenses issued under <br /> this Chapter shall expire on the last day of the month <br /> of the licensee's birth month. <br /> (d) Any licensee failing to make application for renewal <br /> of a license within sixty (6Ø) days after its expiration <br /> shall be considered as an applicant for an original <br /> license. This Section shall not be construed to permit <br /> electrical work by an electrician \.¡i th an expired <br /> license. <br /> SECTION 7. That subdivision (8) of subsection (a) of <br />Section 9-S.1 the San Marcos Code of Ordinances is hereby <br />deleted in its entirety. <br /> SECTION 8. That subsection (a) of 9-S.3 of the San <br />Marcos Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> (a) Each application for a permit shall be accompanied <br /> by the appropriate fee unless the applicant has entered <br /> into a written tax abatement and economic development <br /> incentive agreement with the city which provides <br /> otherwise. In the event the scope of work is increased <br /> during the construction period. the electrical inspector <br /> shall require the permit holder to file an amended <br /> permit application, prior to final inspection; setting <br /> forth the proper fee calculations based on the increase <br /> in scope, and to pay the increased fee amount unless <br /> provided otherwise by written agreement as set forth <br /> hereinabove. Permit fees shall be as set by the City <br /> Council by separate ordinance from time to time. A <br /> schedule of such fees shall be kept on file for public <br /> inspection in the office of the city secretary and the <br /> office of the Building Official. <br />
