Melissa Millecam, Director of Communications and Denise Molina, Business System Analyst, <br />provided a presentation and introduction to the City's new mobile device application through <br />PublicStuff. Following discussion the Council directed Staff to use the Sample 4 background for <br />the application and to call it SMTX Connect. <br />5. Invocation <br />Pastor Paul Buntyn from Abundant Life Christian Church provided the invocation. <br />6. Pledtes of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Council Member led pledges. <br />7. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Camille Phillips, Franklin Dr, addressed the Council regarding the Buie Tract asked that the <br />Council postpone or deny this item due to the complexity of this agreement. <br />Melissa Derrick, San Marcos, addressed the Council regarding her appreciation for the Council <br />postponing the Buie Tract item at the previous meeting and stated that this is a very emotional <br />item to the neighborhood, and feels that there is still a lot more work to be done in regards to this <br />project. She stated that she couldn't state whether she approved or disapproved of the overall <br />project, but that there are problems and the Council needs to take the time to review the unit <br />issue. She asked that the Council postpone or deny this item, and to make sure that it is the best <br />interest of the City and the neighborhood. <br />Rebecca Bell - Metereau, San Marcos, addressed the Council regarding the Buie Tract <br />development agreement reassignment. She provided the Council with an overview of the <br />progress on the development of the Buie Tract being cleared and the environmental impacts of <br />the clearing of that property. She stated that putting anything else on that property would <br />increase the tragedy of that property. What was originally promised 802 units up to 899 and she <br />is not happy about that. She asked the council to slow down and look at the details. <br />Pierre Metereau, San Marcos, addressed the Council regarding the Buie Tract development <br />agreement reassignment. He asked the council to please consider what is going on here and to <br />consider the environmental implications and the density issue in that area. Please reject or <br />postpone it. <br />Ava Purkey, San Marcos, no show. <br />Jay Heibert, San Marcos, addressed the Council regarding the Buie Tract item and stated that this <br />is a slicing and dicing of the development agreement. He stated that this is a bad idea and asked <br />the Council to slow down. He also addressed the environmental concerns in the area. He stated <br />that the San Marcos Voice would like to step up and pay for a geological survey. <br />Nancy Moore, no show. <br />
