Boeker May 3, 1983 Page Three
might be broken down as follows:
a. Connect Hopkins at Riverside to Comal at C. M. Allen
with 4-lane roadway and a new bridge over the San
Marcos River east of the MOPAC tracks. Intersections
at each end of this stretch would need to be signalized.
b. Construct Comal as 4-lane roadway across tracks to
LBJ Street and signalize that intersection.
c. Upgrade Comal/Porter Street to 4 lane plus left-turn
facilities from vicinity of Nance Street where it
narrows to where it currently ends. As many curb cuts
as possible should be eliminated by closing off side
streets and providing alternative access to abutting lots.
d. Extend this road across Redwood Road and tie into Hunter
Road near where it crosses Willow Springs Creek. By
the time this is done, the intersections at Redwood and
Hunter Road will probably need to be signalized.
e. Tie Ranch Road 12 (Moore Street) into this throughway,.
either via North Street and Nance Street, or along
Harvey Street and Comanche Street, and signalize the
intersection.
12. Extend Barbara Drive to Highway 80 opposite middle Wal Mart mall
entrance and signalize this ïntersection. This will ínvolve
R.O.W. acquisition, paving, drainage, striping and signage.
Again R.O.W. and longitudinal drainage would not be eligible for
Urban Systems funding. This project would have to be added to
the Urban Systems map.
13. Upgrade East Bugg Lane from Linda Drive to River Road. This would
involve paving, striping, signage and drainage improvements, and
possibly some R. O. hi. acquisition, which, along with longitudinal
drainage improvements, woulä not be eligible for Urban Systems
funding.
14. Upgrade West Bugg Lane from Hopkins (Ranch Road 12) to Loop 82
to 4 lane and signalize intersection at Hopkins and City Håll
entrance. This would include paving, striping, signage and a
culvert for the Thorp Lane Outfall channel. Plans for this pro-
ject, except for signalization, are essentially complete and
awaiting funding.
15. Rebuild Thorp Lane, along with longitudinal (not eligible for
Urban Systems funding) and cross drainage system, and signalize
interseçtion at Loop 82.
16. In addition to those suggested as part of above projects, the
following intersections may be candidates for new signals:
