Remedial Activities Designed To Address Impediments <br />The major focus of the recommended remedial actions is centered on creating <br />partnerships, identifying new federal resources and leveraging private funding <br />needed to enhance the jurisdiction's ability to increase its supply of affordable <br />housing and better meet the needs of low- income and moderate - income <br />households. Other remedial actions are recommended as a means of reversing <br />the negative impacts of the market conditions and mortgage lending trends that <br />adversely and disproportionately impact the members of the protected classes <br />under the fair housing law. These include sub prime lending, foreclosures, credit <br />and collateral deficiencies that impact loan origination rates, poverty, <br />unemployment and limited income. The details of the identified impediments and <br />remedial actions are presented in Section Six of the report. <br />xii <br />
