The data presented in Table 1.6, provide a portrait of the distribution of the <br />unemployed. It should be noted that unemployment has a disparate impact based on <br />race and ethnicity, particularly among African - Americans. Between 2006 and 2010, <br />10.4 percent of White persons age 16 and over reported being unemployed. <br />Hispanic persons in the same age group reported a 6.5 percent unemployment rate <br />and the data for African - Americans showed 21.0 percent unemployment rate.
