<br /> 39 <br /> CONTRACT FOR OPERATION OF A REGIONAL 9-1-1 SYSTEM <br /> Recitals <br /> 1. The Capital Area Planning Council (CAPCO) is a <br /> Texas regional planning commission created and operating <br /> under chapter 391 of the Local Government Code. CAPCO has <br /> developed a plan to establish and operate a 9-1-1 service in <br /> State Planning Region 12, as authorized by chapter 771 of the <br /> Health and Safety Code, and the Advisory Commission on State <br /> Emergency Communications has approved the plan. <br /> 2. (Public Agency) is a (Texas <br /> ~mun1clpallty ~M~ï~~~~X au~(ilÅ¡:¡i~~:C] tha t <br /> wishes to participate in the plan, which it is authorized to <br /> do by chapter 771 of the Health and Safety Code. <br /> 3. This contract is entered into between CAPCO and <br /> the Public Agency under the lnterlocal Cooperation Act of, <br /> 1971, as amended, article 44l3(32c) of the Texas statutes, so <br /> that the Public Agency can operate Public Safety Answering <br /> Points to implement the 9-1-1 plan. <br /> Services <br /> 4. The Public Agency agrees; <br /> (1) to cooperate with CAPCO in acquiring necessary <br /> equipment for the 9-1-1 system; provide space for and assist the <br /> telephone company(ies) in installing telephone company equipment; <br /> and ~rovide space for and install other necessary equipment not <br /> provided by the telephone company; <br /> (2) to operate one (1) Public Safety Answering <br /> Point(s), at the location(s) described in Attachment A to this <br /> contract, and provide 9-1-1 telephone service 24 hours a <br /> day, 365 days a year; <br /> (3) for ALl Systems, to maintain and update as <br /> necessary the 9-l-1 database to accommodate changes in muni- <br /> cipal boundaries, newly incorporated municipalities, changes <br /> in street names and numbers and the additions of new streets, <br /> and changes in the areas served by emergency service providers; <br />
