S I T E D EVE LOP MEN T
SAMPLING PORTS
Prior to construction of an industrial facility whose
operations will be subject to regulation under the Ordinance, the
Director shall be contacted concerning sampling access needs for
monitoring of liquid waste streams. Sampling sites will be
unique to each facility dependent upon number of process units,
pretreatment required, e t c., but all entities shall have a
terminal sampling port in the lateral line at a point where the
lateral intersects the City's wastewater collection system,
unless the Director agrees to an alternative arrangement for
sampling and process waste flow measurement. The City may, at
the discretion of the Director, install the terminal access
sampling port, or require the user to provide such a port at its
own expense.
FACILITY LAYOUT
Sketches showing locations and types of process units;
pretreatment units; sanitary facilities; storage sites for unused
chemicals, spent chemicals and other waste residues awaiting
off-site disposition; and locations of proposed floor
sumps-drains in facility shall be provided to the Director.
Sketches should be accompanied by brief written descriptions of
each process or pretreatment unit function; size of each unit and
liquid operating volume; chemicals utilized; anticipateq amount
of liquid waste that will be generated and released to sewer in a
given period; and methods of pretreatment that may be
appropriate.
2
