The <br /> Director, however, may require that appropriate and/or additional <br /> pretreatment be given to certain liquid wastes prior to release <br /> into the municipal sewer system. <br /> The Director, subsequent to establishing a compliance <br /> schedule for an industrial user, wi 11 not require treatment <br /> - <br /> process or equipment changes based upon the availability of newly <br /> developed industrial waste treatment technology, unless use of <br /> such treatment technology is mandated by federal and/or state <br /> regulations. <br /> The Director and/or Manager will neither guarantee the <br /> success nor be responsible for the failure of treatment <br /> methodology or equipment suggested by them for use. <br /> As a general rule. major modification of a treatment process <br /> or in equipment should not be instituted until evaluated by minor <br /> operational adjustments or thoroughly tested on "pilot-scale." <br /> 6 <br />
