<br /> -9- <br /> (2) Pollutants which result in the presence of toxic <br /> gases, vapors, or fumes within the POTW in a <br /> quantity that may cause acute worker safety and <br /> health problems. <br /> (3) Any liquid or vapor having a temperature which will <br /> cause worker safety and health problems or which <br /> will cause inhibition of biological activity in the <br /> POTW resulting in interference, or containing heat <br /> in such quantity as to cause the temperature at the <br /> treatment plant to exceed 40 ° C (104OF) unless by <br /> prior approval of the Approval Authority upon <br /> request of the Control Authority for alternate <br /> temperature limits. <br /> (4) Materials having a pH value lower than 6.0 or <br /> higher than 11.0 or possessing any other corrosive <br /> property capable of causing damage to structures, <br /> equipment or personnel at the POTW. <br /> (5) Any of the following elements in solution or <br /> suspension in total concentrations exceeding the <br /> limits set as follows: <br /> PARAMETERS MAXIMUM CONCENTRATION LIMIT <br /> ALLOWABLE, mg/l (Total) <br /> Cyanide 0.74 <br /> Arsenic 1.15 <br /> Cadmium 3.55 <br /> Chromium 11.29 <br /> Copper 11.17 <br /> Lead 0.65 <br /> Mercury 0.01 <br /> Nickel 11.6 <br /> Silver 0.306 <br /> Zinc 14.2 <br /> (c) The maximum concentration of waste constituents, <br /> other than those named in this section, acceptable for <br /> discharge into the sanitary sewer system will be those <br /> levels as specified by the Control Authority and/or Approval <br /> Authority. <br /> (d) Removal credits: Any person wishing to apply for <br /> removal credit as described in 40 CFR 403, may do so <br /> provided it assumes responsibility for all costs incurred, <br /> including those by the city, and states this responsibility <br /> to the Director in writing. Any removal credit granted <br /> shall be in accordance with the procedures set forth in 40 <br /> CFR 403, as amended. <br /> (e) Pollutants which cause pass through or interference <br /> are prohibited. <br /> (f) Bypass is prohibited unless the industrial user <br /> meets the conditions established in 40 CFR 403.17(d) (1). <br /> Sec. 30-93.
