Proposal No. PAA13- 067 -00 3 <br />May 20, 2013, Revision No. 1 <br />all proposed borings will be accessible with a truck - mounted drilling rig and no <br />selective brush clearing is required. <br />Should unusual soil conditions be encountered in the field that indicates the desirability of significantly <br />broadening the scope of the study, we will contact you to receive authorization before proceeding with <br />any additional work. Additional services will be billed on a unit basis in accordance with our standard fees <br />as indicated on the attached Schedule of Fees for Professional Services. <br />If available, we request that the Client provide RKCI with a recent plat of the project site, a drawing <br />illustrating existing and proposed construction locations, and preliminary site grading plans prior to the <br />start of our field exploration services. Also, it is our understanding that the Client will provide access to all <br />boring locations for a conventional, truck - mounted drilling rig. RKCI will take all precautions to prevent <br />damage to property; however, RKCI can not be responsible for tire rutting, or damage of landscaping. It is <br />our standard protocol to contact the ONE CALL utility location service. As such, RKCI cannot be <br />responsible for damaging utility lines that are not located by this service since there is no way to know <br />where all lines are located. We will also contact the civil engineer and the municipality to inquire whether <br />there is a municipal utility district or other utility entity in the vicinity that needs to locate their lines that <br />may not subscribe to the "ONE CALL" service. RKCI will not perform any site utility engineering prior to <br />drilling our borings. <br />Historically the cost of our field services is about 45 percent of our total fee. These services are <br />predominantly provided by subcontractors. In order to promptly pay our subcontractors and continue to <br />be able to respond to your needs, we will send you an interim invoice for 45 percent as soon as the field <br />exploration phase of our study is complete. <br />It should be noted that our study scope (and project cost) does not include attendance of a kick -off <br />meeting or design meeting. Any additional professional time or travel expenses for participation in design <br />team meetings, if required, will be billed at our standard billing rates for professional time plus expenses. <br />It should also be noted that our study scope (and project cost) does not include plan review or earthwork <br />and foundation excavation observations during the construction of the project.
