Proposal No: PAA13- 067 -00
May 20, 2013, Revision No. 1
Laboratory Studv
2
Upon completion of the subsurface exploration, a testing program will be designed to define the strength
and classification characteristics of the subsurface soils. The testing program may include moisture content
tests, Atterberg Limits (plasticity tests), unconfined compression (of the soil samples), corrosivity testing,
and grain size analyses; however, the type and number of tests will be based on subsurface conditions
encountered in the field.
Engineering Data Report
The results of the field and laboratory phases of the study will be reviewed by our staff of engineers and
geologists. The results of our review, together with the supporting field and laboratory data, will be
presented in a written, engineering data report. The Geotechnical Engineering Data Report will include the
following information, if applicable:
• A summary of the field and laboratory sampling and testing program,
• Boring logs and laboratory testing results;
• A review of general site conditions including descriptions of the site, the subsurface
stratigraphy, groundwater conditions, and the presence and condition of fill materials, if
encountered; and
• Report of existing pavement thickness and pavement type at each of the boring locations:
The final data report will be reproduced in 1 spirally -bound copies and a digital PDF file will also be
provided.
Tentative Project Schedule
Based on our present workload, we anticipate that we could begin the field exploration phase of this study
within 3 to 5 working days of receiving your written authorization, provided the site is accessible to our
truck - mounted drill rigs. The field exploration and laboratory testing phase of the study is expected to
take approximately 3 to 5 working days to complete. Preparation of the engineering data report is
expected to take an additional two to three weeks to complete.
Project Cost
The lump sum cost for the study scope outlined herein will be performed for a minimum fee of $3,050
(includes mobilization, field work, laboratory testing, and data report for one (1) soil boring). Each
additional boring will be performed for a unit fee of $350 /each. The fees
This estimate does not include costs incurred to:
• Provide access to the boring locations which may be inaccessible to our drill rig
and support vehicle. We have prepared our proposal with the understanding that
RABAT I S T EP
