N. LBJ Lift Station
Attachment A
Detailed Scope of Engineering Services
Below is a detailed list of the tasks by phase to be performed by the LAN team under this work
authorization based upon our meetings and the City's "Engineering Scope of Services Checklist ":
Basic Services
Preliminary Design Phase — LAN will provide a technical memorandum for the City summarizing
the anticipated growth in the sewershed that leads to the lift station, as well as the hydraulics of the
station. The memo will include a calculation of the system head for both the existing force main and
the anticipated future force main, to help in sizing the submersible pumps. The scope includes:
• Review of existing Reports /Studies/Drawings (includes memos from K Friese & Associates)
• Two (2) site visits
• Preparation of technical memorandum to summarize growth and hydraulics, including
recommended pump sizing
• Quality Control of technical memorandum
• Internal management during design phase
Design Phase: The design phase is anticipated to include submissions only at the 90% and Final time
periods. Based on recent discussions with the City, LAN will address the City's comments that were
provided, and will provide the detailed engineering necessary to allow the project to be bid. The
scope assumes that the current generator will remain in place an item has been added to the Special
Services category should the City determine that a larger generator is more advantageous. The
scope includes:
• Two project meetings with City staff.
• Electrical, instrumentation and control (I &C) design to include:
• Review of current applicable national, state and local codes and standards for project
compliance.
• Coordination with the Civil, Mechanical/Process, and Structural discipline leads as it
relates the Electrical and I &C components identified herein.
• Coordinate I &C requirements with the updated valve vault.
• Research and prepare grounding solutions for highly resistive rocky soils.
• Coordinate with the City's systems integrator and develop a new control schematic per
the Cottonwood LS go -by.
• Re -route lift station circuits per City of San Marcos direction.
• Preparation of electrical construction drawings (AutoCAD format) in one IFB /IFC
package. The construction drawings will include plans, sections, and details associated
with the electrical and I &C elements described herein along with general notes.
• Preparation of "Final Draft" construction drawings and specifications for review and
approval by the City of San Marcos followed by incorporation of comments and release
of the construction drawings and specifications for bid and construction.
• Structural design to include:
o Review of applicable national, state and local codes and standards for project
compliance.
Attachment A
Pagel of 4
l'W,
