Chuck Paul of the <br /> Holiday Inn stated a feasibility study was being prepared with funds <br /> from the Tourist Development Committee through the Chamber of Com- <br /> merce to see if our City was in need of a civic center, and that he <br /> would like to see the Council table action on the increased tax until <br /> such time as the study was completed. The Council then voted unani- <br /> mously in favor of approval of the Ordinance on second reading. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br /> on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-122 OF THE CODE <br /> OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO ADD STOP SIGNS AT THE <br /> INTERSECTION OF WOODS STREET AND COMANCHE STREET IN <br /> SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mayor Craddock moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading and <br /> Mr. Brown seconded the motion. City Manager Gonzalez advised the <br /> Council the traffic control device set up at Harvey and San Antonio <br /> Streets was on a temporary basis as an experiment. The City is docu- <br /> menting information regarding accidents which will be presented to <br /> the Council at a future time to make permanent. The Council voted <br /> unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on second reading. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br /> on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 6-17 OF THE CODE OF <br /> ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO EXTEND BY ONE HOUR THE TIME <br /> DURING WHICH THE SAN MARCOS CEMETERY IS OPEN TO THE <br /> PUBLIC AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Ms. Kissler moved to approve the Ordinance on second reading and Mr. <br /> Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br /> on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS <br /> OF THE SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF <br /> 10 FEET CROSSING OVER AND A PART OF LOTS 1 THROUGH <br /> 8, BLOCK 3 OF THE H. A. NELSON'S FIRST ADDITION TO <br /> THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO THE STATE OF <br /> TEXAS, FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS <br /> STATE UNIVERSITY, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID <br /> CITY TO EXECUTE A GENERAL WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING <br /> SAID TRACT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading <br /> and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br /> the caption which was read as follows: <br />
