<br /> l30 <br /> Regular Meeting September 26, 1983 Page 2 <br /> Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Ms. <br /> Kissler seconded the motion. Mr. Moore then moved to amend the <br /> Ordinance in SECTION 1. "That the tax rate for the City of San Marcos, <br /> Texas, for the tax year 1983 be, and is hereby, set at sixty-eight <br /> cents (68~) on each one hundred dollars ($100) of the taxable value <br /> of real and personal property not exempt from taxation by the consti- <br /> tution and laws of this state situated within the corporate limits <br /> of said City," and SECTION 2. A. "For the payment of current expenses <br /> and to be deposited in the general fund sixty-two cents (62~) on each <br /> one hundred dollars ($100) of the taxable value of such property;" <br /> rather than 69~ and 631, respectively. Mr. Farr seconded the motion, <br /> which passed unanimously. The City Secretary read the amendments into <br /> the record. City Manager A. C. Gonzalez advised the Council we would <br /> not be able to retain the fiscal posture we have had and that we could <br /> not predict the future outcome. The Council then voted unanimously <br /> in favor of adoption of the Ordinance, as amended. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of an Ordin- <br /> ance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1982-41, ADOPTED <br /> SEPTEMBER 7, 1982, WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIM- <br /> ATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE <br /> FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER l, 1982, AND ENDING ON <br /> SEPTEMBER 30, 1983, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE <br /> VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE TO REVISE <br /> SAID ESTIMATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS; ADOPT- <br /> ING SAID REVISIONS AND ESTIMATES AND DECLARING AN EMER- <br /> GENCY. <br /> Mayor Craddock moved for adoption of the Ordinance and Ms. Kissler se- <br /> conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br /> on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2-31 OF THE CODE OF <br /> ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO PRESCRIBE THE NUMBER OF <br /> POSITIONS IN EACH CLASSIFICATION OF POLICEMEN AND <br /> FIREMEN EMPLOYED BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br /> AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br /> Brown seconded the motion. Mr. Farr then moved to amend the Ordinance <br /> under Section 2-31. in the Police Department to reflect 9 authorized <br /> Corporal positions rather than 8, and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, <br /> which passed unanimously. The City Secretary read the amendment into <br /> the record. The Council then voted unanimous approval of the Ordinance <br /> on emergency. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br /> on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF <br /> ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO ADD A SECTION,TO BE NUM- <br /> BERED 30-9, TO REQUIRE PAYMENT OF A FEE FOR THE PROVI- <br /> SION BY SAID CITY OF BLUELINES OF MAPS OF CITY'S WATER <br /> AND WASTEWATER LINES AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
