<br /> l33 <br /> Regular Meeting September 26, 1983 Page 5 <br /> Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final <br /> reading and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unani- <br /> mously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of a Resolu- <br /> tion, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF GENE BAGWELL, <br /> DBA GENE BAGWELL MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT FOR THE PRO- <br /> VISION OF MAINTENANCE SERVICES AT THE SAN MARCOS <br /> CEMETERY FOR THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 1, 1983 TO SEP- <br /> TEMBER 30, 1984; APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> OF A CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF SAID SERVICES; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE SAID <br /> CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mr. Brown moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler second- <br /> ed the motion. Henry Kyle, Chairman of the Cemetery Commission, said <br /> the Commission was recommending Gene Bagwell be awarded the contract <br /> because of the splendid work he had done in the Cemetery for the past <br /> year. The other bidders on the contract were allowed to address the <br /> Council. Reed Carr did not think a 15% increase was justified, and <br /> that enough justification had been given for the Council to award bid <br /> to the highestbidder. Gene Bagwell said the increase was due to an <br /> increase in acreage of rough cut and fine cut. James Houston thought <br /> other bidders should be given an opportunity to prove their capabili- <br /> ties. Nina pryatel said the Cemetery had been a disgrace prior to <br /> the contract being awarded to Gene Bagwell. Shirley Wickersham said <br /> the Cemetery had never looked better than it does now under the con- <br /> tract with Gene Bagwell. On roll call the following vote was record- <br /> ed: <br /> AYE: Brown, Farr, Craddock, Kissler, Kreczmer, Moore. <br /> NAY: None. <br /> ABSTAIN: Guerra. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of a Resolu- <br /> tion, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING PAYMENT TO PECAN VALLEY <br /> ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR RUNWAY LIGHTING AND PRECISION <br /> MARKING AT THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT IN SAID <br /> CITY; ACCEPTING SAID IMPROVEMENTS FOR USE BY SAID <br /> CITY; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,895.69 <br /> AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra seconded <br /> the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration the adoption of a Resolu- <br /> tion, the caption which was read as follows: <br />
