<br /> 20 <br /> ACCORDING TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER <br /> 30, ARTICLE II, DIVISION 5, WATER SYSTEM IMPACT FEE: <br /> WATER: SERVICE UNIT (S. U . ). A unit of development which <br /> produces the same demand as is produced by a single-family <br /> dwelling unit with three (3.0) occupants and an average water <br /> consumption of three hundred thirty-eight (338) gallons per day <br /> per unit. <br /> TYPE OF USE S. U. PER UNIT OF DEVELOPMENT <br /> ( 1) Residential: <br /> a. Single-family 1.0 S.U./dwelling unit <br /> (includes duplexes) <br /> b. Multi-family 0.66 S.U./dwelling unit <br /> ( 2) Hotel/motels 0.25 S.U./room <br /> ( 3) Hotel/motels with rest- 0.25 S.U./room plus <br /> aurant and/or bar 0.001 S.U./sq. ft. of bldg. <br /> in restaurant and/or bar <br /> ( 4) Hospitals 0.57 S.U./bed <br /> ( 5) Restaurant/bar 0.001 S.U./sq. ft. of bldg. <br /> ( 6) Nursing homes 0.28 S.U./bed <br /> (7) Office 0.0002 S.U. sq. ft. of bldg. <br /> ( 8) Office with showers 0.0004 S.U./sq. ft. of bldg. <br /> ( g) Industrial 0.0002 S.U./sq. ft. of bldg. <br /> (10) Laundromats 0.22 S.U./machine <br /> (11) Car wash 0.70 S.U./wash rack <br /> PLEASE NOTE: When in the determination of the Public Works <br /> Director or his designated representatives, a new structure, <br /> remodeling or addition is not included in the above categories <br /> prior to the issuance of the building and/or plumbing permit, the <br /> Director of Public Works or his designated representatives shall <br /> derive the service units for the proposed use. Said derivation <br /> shall be made utilizing the water consumption from similar <br /> establishments. <br /> The impact fee for non-residential users will be considered an <br /> initial fee to establish usage base. An additional annual fee <br /> will be charged every January 15th, for additional capacity used <br /> above the usage base for a period of five (5) years calculated <br /> using the following formula: <br /> Average daily usage (gal./day) - Base usage (gal./day) = <br /> (over/under) base usage (gaL/day) <br />
