<br /> -2- <br /> (5) Dwelling unit. A room or suite or set of rooms occupied <br /> and suitable for occupancy as a family residence, and <br /> having kitchen, bath and sanitary facilities, together <br /> with appropriate appurtenances to such occupancy. <br /> (A) Single-family detached dwelling unit: A building <br /> designed for and occupied exclusively by one family <br /> which is a structurally separated building on a lot <br /> that is unoccupied by any other dwelling unit. <br /> (B) Single-family attached dwelling unit: A building <br /> designed for and occupied exclusively by one family <br /> which is attached to one or more other <br /> single-family dwelling units along a property <br /> boundary. <br /> (C) Duplex: A building designed for and/or occupied <br /> exclusively by two ( 2) families living <br /> independently of each other. A duplex sharing a <br /> lot with another residentially used structure shall <br /> fall under the definition of a multiple-dwelling <br /> unit and shall not be considered a duplex for the <br /> purposes of this division. <br /> (D) Multiple-family dwelling unit: A building designed <br /> for and/or occupied exclusively by two (2) or more <br /> dwelling units. (Also known as multi-family <br /> dwelling unit.) <br /> (6) Plumbing permit. Any permit issued by the building <br /> inspection office under Chapter 20 of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, as amended. <br /> ( 7) Remodeling. Renovation, alteration or repair of an <br /> existing structure that is not an addition. <br /> ( 8) Residential unit, A dwelling occupied by a person or <br /> group of persons. A residential unit shall be deemed <br /> occupied when either water or domestic light and power <br /> services are being supplied to it. A townhouse, <br /> apartment, fourplex, duplex or condominium whether of <br /> single or multilevel construction, or a mobile home, <br /> shall be treated as a residential unit. <br /> ( 9) Restaurant. A building or portion of a building where <br /> the primary business is the on-premises sale of prepared <br /> food, with kitchen facilities for the preparation of the <br /> food to be sold. <br /> (10) Service unit (SU). A unit of development which produces <br /> an average anticipated sewage flow of three hundred <br /> (300) gallons per day. <br /> (ll) Structure. Anything constructed, erected or <br /> artificially built up; or composed of parts and joined <br /> together in a permanent manner. <br /> (12) Townhouse. A single-family dwelling unit constructed in <br /> a series, or a group of units, having common walls, each <br /> on a separate lot. <br /> (b) Definitions not provided in this section shall be taken <br /> from other provisions of the San Marcos Code of <br /> Ordinances, when available. <br /> Sec. 30-42. Payment of iJapact fee. <br /> Prior to connection of any building, premises or lot to any <br /> sewage system which utilizes the sewage treatment works or <br /> sewage collection system of the City of San Marcos, the owner <br /> of that building, premises or lot shall pay a sewage system <br /> impact fee to the City.
