The Architect will: <br />1.3.1 Conduct a visual assessment of the physical spaces at the library site. The Architect will <br />also visit the library and produce a record of the building as well as prepare photographic and <br />other documents associated with the facility. The assessments will include, but are not limited <br />to: <br />a) An examination of the current floor plan, and furniture layout for use of space; <br />b) Interior elements including the general condition of electrical, plumbing, fire HVAC and <br />other systems as appropriate; <br />c) Technical systems such as sound, communications, audio visual, and computing; <br />d) Roofs, exterior walls and windows; <br />e) Landscaping, parking and exterior conditions; <br />f) Flood plain and drainage; <br />g) Parking, size, capacity and potential for expansion; <br />h) Vehicular and pedestrian access, visibility and access; <br />i) Topography and natural features of the site; <br />j) Zoning, building code, or site issues as identified, and <br />k) Issues related to renovations needed to the existing structure. <br />1.3.2 The Architect will incorporate the findings from the Facility /Site Assessment into the <br />final detailed building program. <br />1.4 TASK 4 — RECOMMEND EXPANSION PLAN (MONTH 3) <br />The Architect will: <br />1.4.1 Utilize the information gathered from interviews, staff input sessions, community <br />meetings, facility assessment and statistical data to: <br />a) prepare a gap analysis of library services; <br />b) compare expansion options with costs and benefits; and <br />c) recommend an expansion plan for the library <br />1.5 TASK 1.5 — PROGRAMMING (MONTH 4) <br />The Architect will: <br />1.5.1 Utilize the information gathered from interviews, staff input sessions and community <br />meetings as well as library service plans, observations, and library service assessments to <br />determine a preferred expansion scenario and draft a detailed building program for the preferred <br />scenario. If development of a branch library is determined to be the preferred expansion <br />scenario, the Architect will include in the building program a general recommendation regarding <br />Dewberry Architects Agreement Final <br />
