Site Preparation: Preparation of the site and finish site <br /> work will be done by this contract. Sewerage connections will be <br /> made to building stubouts as indicated. <br /> 12-03 PROTECTION: <br /> a. Adequate protection measures shall be provided to protect <br /> workmen and passersby on the site. <br /> b. Surface drainage (with temporary erosion control, measured <br /> for payment under Specification 19) shall be provided for <br /> throughout the construction period. <br /> c. For trenches deeper than 5', the Contractor shall strictly <br /> observe the pertinent portions (as they may apply to the jobsite) <br /> of the Occupational Safety and Health Subpart P- Excavations, <br /> Trenching, and Shoring. A copy is attached to the end of this <br /> Specification for the Contractor's use (pages numbered 179 to 186 <br /> inclusive). IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO <br /> FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF ¡HERSELF WITH ALL OF THE REQUlREKENTS AND TO <br /> STRICTLY ADHERE TO ALL OF THEK. <br /> 12-04 MATERIAL: <br /> a. Sewer Pipe: <br /> ( 1) Tight Lines: Material shall be 4" polyvinyl chloride <br /> pipe ASH D1785 8chedule 40, or ASH 02672 (Bell End) schedule 40. <br /> Fittings 8hall schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride pipe ASTK D2466. All <br /> joints shall be priJDed with ASH F656 purple primer. Cement shall <br /> be medium body type, gray color complying with ASTK 02564. <br /> Installation and backfill shall be in accordance with <br /> manufacturer's recO1llllendations and good construction practice, <br /> beginning at the lowest point and proceeding up-grade. Joints <br /> shall be made in compliance with ASTK 02855 "Making Solvent- <br /> Cemented Joints With Poly (Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Pipe and <br /> Fittings". <br /> 12-2 <br />
