The work shall consist of installation and construction <br /> of waste collection line, and connection to existing manhole where <br /> shown on the drawings. It shall include trenching, excavation, <br /> backfill, pipelines, furnishing all materials and equipment and the <br /> qualified labor, tools and equipment, to make the installation, all <br /> as described herein and as shown on the drawings to result in a <br /> complete sewerage system. <br /> b. If required the contractor shall have included in his/her <br /> bid all permit fees that may be required to construct the sewer <br /> line. The City of San Marcos may require inspection of the sewer <br /> line to be provided by this bid item, in addition to the Engineer's <br /> lnspection. Contractor shall contact the Department of Public <br /> Works for the necessary info~tion. <br /> c. Contractor shall contact the Engineer and the City of San <br /> Marcos inspector at appropriate times during the construction <br /> effort to give them an opportunity to inspect the items of <br /> construction before same are buried or concealed by backfill <br /> materials. The Engineer shall NOT be responsible for day to day <br /> inspection of the workJ but wiLl make periodic visits to insure <br /> that the work is being accomplished in accordance with these <br /> specifications, the drawings,. and the bestprActic~ ofj;.h. tra4es <br /> involved. <br /> 12-02 DESCRIPTION. <br /> a. Pipe routes are indicated on drawings. Stakes for line <br /> and grade will be provided by the Contractor for all pipeline. The <br /> work shall be in accordance with normal accepted met;hods and <br /> approved by the Texas Department of Health and the San Marcos-Hays <br /> County Health Department and the City of San Marcos Inspection <br /> Department and/or Public Works Department. <br /> b. Sewer Line shall consist of installation of polyvinyl <br /> chloride sewer pipe, trenching, excavation, backfilling including <br /> suitable compaction, cleanup and testing. <br /> c. Examine the site to determine the extent of work necessary <br /> to complete the project as indicated by the drawings. <br /> 12-1 <br />
