<br /> 190 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 13 <br /> POTABLE WATER SYSTEM <br /> 13-01 GENERAL: <br /> a. All work under this section is subject to the applicable <br /> provisions of the 1985 Standard Plumbing Code having jurisdiction <br /> over the project. <br /> 13-02 SCOPE OF POTABLE WATER LINE: <br /> a. The work includes the furnishing of all materials, <br /> equipment, tools, labor, appliances, maintenance (1 year warranty <br /> period) and performing all operations necessary for installing a <br /> potable water system ( s), guaranteed for one year against defective <br /> material and workmanship; all in accordance with the drawings and <br /> these specifications or as required for a complete and useable <br /> system(s), plan adjustments at site, and required by the 1985 <br /> Standard Plumbing Code as well as by the best trade practices of <br /> the construction trades involved. <br /> b. If required the Contractor shall have included in his/her <br /> bid all permit fees that may be required to construct the potable <br /> water line. The City of San Marcos may require inspection of the <br /> potable water line to be provided by this bid item, in addition to <br /> the Engineer's inspection. Contractor shall contact the Department <br /> of Public Works for the necessary information. <br /> c. The Contractor shall contact the Engineer and the City of <br /> San Marcos inspector at appropriate times during the construction <br /> effort to give them an opportunity to inspect the items of <br /> construction beto!:'e sue a!:'e buried or concealed by backfill <br /> materials. The Engineer shall NOT be responsible for day to day <br /> inspection of the work; but will make periodic visits to insure <br /> that the work is being accomplished in accordance with these <br /> specifications, the drawings, and the best practice of the trades <br /> involved. <br /> 13-03 APPLICABLE SPECIFICATIONS: <br /> a. Polyvinyl Chloride Water Pipe shall be of the rigid <br /> (unplasticized) type and must bear the National Sanitation <br /> Foundation seal of approval for potable water pipe. Each joint of <br /> pipe shall be a single continuous extrusion; bells or other <br /> 13-1 <br />
