<br /> 191 <br /> RAMON ~UCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 13 <br /> POTABLE WATER SYSTEM <br /> components attached by solvent welding are not acceptable. All <br /> pipe shall be pressure rated at 200 psi, Class 200 (SDR-21), ASTM <br /> 0-2241, or schedule 40 ASTM 0-1785. <br /> Pipe shall have push-on, rubber gasket joints of the bell and <br /> spigot type with thickened integral bells, or of the double spigot <br /> type with thickened coupling sleeves with rubber gasket joints. <br /> The wall thickness of each pipe bell and joint coupling must be <br /> greater than the standard pipe barrel thickness. <br /> b. All fittings shall conform to AWWA C-110 or shall be <br /> schedule 40 (pressure fittings) conforming to ASTH 0-2466. <br /> 13-04 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: <br /> a. The potable water system shall be constructed using new and <br /> unused materials, without flaws or defects, of sizes and types as <br /> shown on the drawings and as called for in these specifications. <br /> The system shall be constructed to grades and conform to areas and <br /> locations as shown on the drawings. <br /> The construction of potable water system(s) shall include the wet <br /> connection (at Ramon Lucio system) and dry connection (at Rio Vista <br /> Annex system) to existing wate~ mains where shown on drawings, <br /> fittings, gate valve8, check valves, drain valves, and all <br /> necessary specialties and accessaries ,excavation and backfill, and <br /> all other work as required by the drAwing. and specifications and <br /> required for the ccaplete system. <br /> All materialoverage8 at the completion of the installation are the <br /> property of the Contractor and are to be removed from the site. <br /> 13-05 CONSTRUCTIONs <br /> a. Potable Water Pipe: <br /> (1) Potable water pipe connecting the building stubouts <br /> to the tap shall be as described in paragraph 13-03 above. The <br /> Contractor shall layout the routing of the potable water pipe from <br /> the restroom building stubout (stop and wa8te valve) to the tap <br /> where shown on Sheet 11 of the drawings.
