<br /> 201 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 15 <br /> HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL <br /> 15-01 GENERAL: <br /> a. All work under this specification is subject to the <br /> applicable provisions of the Texas Department of Highways and <br /> Public Transportation (Highway Dept.), Standard Specifications for <br /> Construction of Highways, Streets and Bridges. The Contractor shall <br /> be responsible for familiarizing himself with the specific items <br /> quoted and shall be governed by all requirements thereunder. <br /> 15-02 SCOPE: <br /> a. The work consists of preparing subgrade, finishing and <br /> placing select base material, finishing and placing a crushed <br /> granite surfacing on trails, in accordance with the drawings. <br /> b. All trails shall be matched to the concrete sidewalk to <br /> provide a smooth transition without mismatch. <br /> 15-03 PREPARATION OF SUBGRADE: <br /> a. Areas to receive trails shall have been cleared of all <br /> existing obstructions, and excavated, filled and/or compacted to <br /> a total depth of 8" below finish grades under other sections of <br /> these specifications. <br /> b. The subgrades shall have been excavated and shaped in <br /> conformity with the grading shown on the drawings or as directed <br /> by Engineer and in accordance with the Specification IB titled, <br /> SITE PREPARATION. All unstable or othe~ objectionable material <br /> shall have been removed from the subgrade and replaced wi th <br /> approved material. All holes, ruts, and depressions shall have been <br /> filled with approved materials. <br /> 15-04 BASE COURSE ( ROAD BASE MATERIAL): <br /> a. Base Course material shall be flexible base material <br /> meeting all of the requirements given in paragraph 6-04 of <br /> Specification 6 (Texas SDHPT Item 249, Type "A", Grade 2 or <br /> better). <br /> b. A compacted thickness for flexible base shall be 6". <br /> c. After the subbase has been compacted and shaped to grade <br /> and section, the material shall be delivered in uniform amounts. <br /> 15-1 <br />
