<br /> 202 <br /> RAMON LPCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 15 <br /> HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL <br /> In general, the flexible base shall be laid down in <br /> conformity with Paragraph 249.6 of the Texas Department of Highways <br /> and Public Transportation Standard Specifications. Compaction shall <br /> be to 95\ density using test method Tex-113-E (or any other field <br /> density test acceptable to the Engineer). <br /> 15-05 SURFACE MATERIAL: <br /> a. Surfacing material shall consist of red to dark pink <br /> crushed granite aggregate composed of a mixture of aggregate and <br /> fines meeting the following gradation: <br /> Retained on the 5/8" sieve 0\ <br /> Retained on the 3/8" sieve 15' to 25' <br /> Retained on the No.4 sieve 40% to 55% <br /> paJising the No. 10 sieve 20% to 35' <br /> b. The Contractor shall place 4 inches of material uniformly <br /> on top of prepared base material, and compact with a steel <br /> (mechanical) roller to 2" compacted thickness for finish grade as <br /> required on the drawings. Any uneven areas shall be scarified by <br /> raking and recompacting to the desired finish grade. A cross <br /> section slope as noted on the drawings shall be maintained at the <br /> finished grade on all hike and bike trails. <br /> At points of existing defined drainage on the ground which <br /> occurs perpendicular or near perpendicular to the hike and bike <br /> trail, a pitch of 1/2" per foot across the width of the trail shall <br /> be maintained at the finish grade on all granite trail surfacing. <br /> The high point ø~hal1 be along the riverside of the trail, sloping <br /> across the width of the trail. <br /> 15-06 SURFACB VARXATIONS: <br /> a. The trail's surface after being rolled shall be even and <br /> smooth and shall have a maximum surface variation of 3/4" in 10 <br /> feet when tested with a straight edge. <br /> 15-07 EQUIPMBNT: <br /> a. Equipment necessary for the efficient and expeditious <br /> accomplishment of the required work shall be on hand in good <br /> condition and shall be approved before the work is started. <br /> 15-2 <br />
