<br /> 94 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 3 <br /> EXCAVATION FOR STRUCTURES <br /> 3-01 GENERAL: <br /> a. All work under this specification is subject to the <br /> applicable Items of the Texas State Department of Highways and <br /> Public Transportation "Standard Specifications for Construction of <br /> Highways, Streets, and Bridges," 1982. <br /> 3-02 SCOPE: <br /> a. This specification covers excavation for concrete placement <br /> of various structural elements for restroom building, group <br /> shelter, pedestrian bridges (except drilled shaft see technical <br /> specification 7), and low water crossing. <br /> b. Excavation described in this specification will not be <br /> measured for separate payment but shall be considered subsidiary <br /> work pertaining to the involved items of the contract. <br /> c. All work shall be in accordance with the details shown on <br /> the plans, and with these specifications. <br /> d. Excavation and backfill for water, sanitary sewer and <br /> filtration/detention system, and electrical shall be specified in <br /> other sections of these Specifications. <br /> 3-03 CLASSIFICATION OF EXCAVATION: <br /> a. All excavation under this specification, including that <br /> necessary for the setting of fòrms, shall be classified as <br /> Structural Excavation regardless of the nature of materials <br /> encountered. For the purpose of this paragraph, water shall not be <br /> considered to be a material. <br /> 3-04 GENERAL: <br /> a. All excavation shall be dewatered before any permanent <br /> construction is placed therein. Concrete, pipe, and other <br /> construction for which excavation is made, shall be placed only <br /> upon a dewatered, firm foundation. Dewatering will not be measured <br /> for separate payment. <br /> 3-1 <br />
