<br /> 116 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 1 <br /> DRILLED SHAFT FOUNDATIONS <br /> 1-01 GENERAL: <br /> a. All work under this specification is subject to the <br /> applicable provisions of the Texas Department of Highways and <br /> Public Transportation, "Standard Specifications for Construction <br /> of Highways, Streets and Bridges", 1982. <br /> 7-02 SCOPE: <br /> a. The work consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, <br /> tools, labor, appliances, etc. necessary to construct the drilled <br /> shaft foundations to the lines, grades, and details as shown on the <br /> drawings and/or as directed by the Engineer. Two core boring's for <br /> the Pedestrian Bridge over Purgatory Creek (Bicentennial Park) and <br /> one core boring for the Pedestrian Bridge over the San Marcos River <br /> (Ramon Lucio Park) were performed by the Soil Conservation Service <br /> with a Texoma Power Auger. Core Borings Logs of each site and <br /> their relative elevations to the project are shown on drawings <br /> ~heets 12 and 13. Copies of the core logs are attached to the end <br /> of this specification. <br /> b. Temporary steel casing the entire length of shaft will be <br /> required to seal ground water from the bearing stratum and to <br /> prevent caving of overburden soils into the shaft at both bridge <br /> sites. <br /> 7-03 MATERIALS: <br /> a. Concrete shall be Class C in accordance with Specification <br /> 4, Concrete Work - General, of these specifications. The maximum <br /> size coarse aggregate shall be 1 1/2M. <br /> b. Reinforcing: steel shall be in accordance with Specification <br /> 4, Concrete Work - General, of these specifications. Spiral <br /> reinforcement shall be either smooth or deformed bar or wire of the <br /> minimum diameter indicated. Spiral reinforcement shall comply with <br /> the requirements of Specification 4 or ASTK A 675 for bars and ASTH <br /> A 82 for wire. The minimum yield strength for spiral reinforcement <br /> shall be 40,000 psi. <br /> 7-1 <br />
