<br /> 139 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 9 <br /> ELECTRICAL WORK - GENERAL <br /> 9-13 MOTORS: <br /> a. Motors furnished under other sections of these <br /> specifications shall be of sufficient size for the du ty to be <br /> performed and shall not exceed their full rated load when the <br /> driven equipment is operating at specified capacity under the most <br /> severe conditions likely to be encountered. All motors shall have <br /> frames and insulation suitable for their intended use and a <br /> continuous-duty classification based on a 40 degree C. ambient <br /> temperature reference for all motors. <br /> (1) Integral-Horsepower Alternating Current Motors: <br /> Integral-horsepower alternating current motors shall conform to the <br /> requirements of Federal Specification CC-X-641. <br /> (2) Other Motors: Motors not included within the scope <br /> of paragraph (1) above shall conform to the design, construction <br /> and performance requirements of Standard CSO-1943 of the American <br /> Standards Association. <br /> 9-14 UNDERGROUND SERVICES: <br /> a. Conduit for underground electrical service shall be <br /> installed from control panels to meter poles. Conduit shall <br /> terminate at the meter and be left ready for connection. <br /> 9-15 MOTOR CONTROLS: <br /> a. Each motor, or group of motors furnished under these <br /> specifications, requiring a single control, shall be provided with <br /> a suitable controller and device which will perform the functions <br /> as specified for the respective motors. All controllers shall <br /> conform to the adopted standards and recoDDDended practices of the <br /> Industrial Control Standards of the National Electrical <br /> Manufacturers Association and the standard for Industrial Control <br /> Equipment of the Underwriters' Laboratories I Inc. Each motor shall <br /> be provided with thermal overload protection. The overload <br /> protective device shall be provided either integral with the motor <br /> or controller I or mounted in a separate enclosure. Unless otherwise <br /> specified, the protective device shall be of the manually reset <br /> type. Manual controllers for motor larger than 1/4 horsepower shall <br /> be specifically designed for the purpose and shall have a <br /> horsepower rating adequate for the motor. Automatic control devices <br /> such as timers, floats, electrodes or pressure switches may control <br /> 9-9 <br />
