<br /> 1'55 <br /> RAMON LUCIO, RIO VISTA, RIO VISTA ANNEX, AND BICENTENNIAL <br /> PARKS RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 11 <br /> RESTROOM BUILDINGS <br /> (2) Finish exterior joints that will remain exposed by <br /> raking or tooling as selected. Finish interior joints with tool to <br /> form concave surface. Tool vertical joints first. Finish flush <br /> joints that will not remain exposed. Lay three courses to <br /> approximately 8 inches vertically, using joints of uniform size. <br /> 11-07 CAULKING: <br /> a. General: This section includes, but is not limited to, <br /> Caulking, Sealing, and other related items necessary to complete <br /> project as indicated by the documents unless specifically excluded. <br /> b. Materials: <br /> (1) Sealant for general use shall be gun-grade, one-part <br /> acrylic based, liquid polymer sealant meeting Fed. Spec. <br /> TT-S-OO230¡ equal to " Mono-Lasto-Meric " by Tremco Mfg. Co., as <br /> approved by the Engineer. Color of sealants shall be black, white, <br /> bronze, or other standard manufacturer's color(s), as selected by <br /> the Engineer, to match or contrast with adjoining materials. Submit <br /> samples to Engineer for selection and approval. <br /> c. Preparing: <br /> (1) Joints and spaces to be sealed and caulked shall be <br /> clean, dry, and free of dust. Clean metal surfaces with solvent to <br /> remove all surface oils and temporary protective coating. Prime all <br /> surfaces where recO8lDØnded by manufactu.er. <br /> d. Installing: <br /> (1) All joints to receive liquid polymer sealant shall <br /> be backed with joint backing material to eliminate back bond. Where <br /> width of liquid polymer joint is 1/2 inch wide or less, prepare <br /> joint so depth of caulking bead is approximately equal to its <br /> width. Where width of liquid polymer joint exceeds 1/2 inch, <br /> prepare joint so depth of caulking bead is approximately equal to <br /> 1/2 its width. Use appropriate joint backing and joint filler <br /> material, as specified herein above. <br /> 11-7 <br />
