<br /> -8- <br /> The city shall provide a written report to the owner <br /> concerning the inspection. The owner shall have 30 days <br /> to correct any deficiency, submit for a re-inspection <br /> and pay a re-inspection fee of $10.00. Failure to <br /> correct the deficiency and request a re-inspection will <br /> result in removal of nonconforming status. <br /> (2) Voluntary removal of any portable sign from its location <br /> at the time of initial inspection for a time period <br /> exceeding 48 hours shall result in removal of <br /> nonconforming status. <br />(b) Use as temporary signs: Temporary portable signs shall be <br /> subject to limitations on the duration of their use as <br /> follows: <br /> ( 1) On a commercial multiple-occupancy premises, each <br /> occupant is limited to one display period of 15 <br /> consecutive days per 6 month period. <br /> (2) On any other premises, a temporary portable sign may be <br /> displayed a maximum of 30 days, total, during any <br /> calendar year; provided, that the sign may be displayed <br /> one additional 30 consecutive day period by a new <br /> business that has not yet erected a permanent sign. <br />(c) Portable signs shall not exceed 32 square feet in area, and <br /> shall be stabilized or anchored according to the current city <br /> Building Code. Electric portable signs shall be located <br /> within three feet of a weatherproof electric outlet. <br />(d) Only one portable sign may be displayed on a premises at any <br /> given time. <br /> ARTICLE III. ADKIIIISTRATIOII <br />Sec. 3-1. Permit. <br />(a) It shall be unlawful to display, erect, rebuild, expand, or <br /> relocate any sign without first filing an application and <br /> obtaining a sign permit, in accordance with the following <br /> provisions. Electrical permits shall also be required for <br /> electric signs, except those designed to be plugged into an <br /> existing electric outlet. <br />(b) Application: The application for a sign permit shall be made <br /> by the owner or tenant of the property on which the sign is <br /> to be located, or a sign contractor licensed by the city. <br /> The administrator shall, within 4 working days of submittal <br /> of the application, either approve or deny the application, <br /> or refer it back to the applicant where insufficient <br /> information has been furnished. The application shall be on <br /> forms furnished by the administrator, and shall contain the <br /> following information: <br /> ( 1) The name, address, and telephone number of the property <br /> owner, sign contractor, and person completing the <br /> application; <br /> (2) The street address or other description of the premises <br /> where the sign is to be located, including name of <br /> business or organization; <br /> (3) A written and/or graphic description of the sign <br /> including type of sign (attached, freestanding, <br /> protable, off-premise, etc.), name of the manufacturer, <br /> dimensions, foundation or mounting details, material and <br /> electrical specifications, and location on the property <br /> or building; <br />
