<br /> circumstances in which more than one-half of a board or <br /> commission's members are inexperienced with tho work of the <br /> board or commission, in which case members may be <br /> reappointed for one additio~al term only. <br /> (e) A person who is not eligible for re~ppointment to a <br /> board or commission under this section shall remain <br /> ineligible for a period of time equal to one regular term of <br /> office of the board or commission. <br /> (f) A person who is not eligible for reappointment to a <br /> board or commission under this section shall be eligible for <br /> appointment to any other board or commission. <br /> Sec. 2-56. Absence from Meetinqs. <br /> <br /> (a) The voluntary absence of a board or commission member <br /> from three consecutive meetings of the board or commission <br /> shall result in automatic resignation of the member from the <br /> board or commission. <br /> (b) An absence of a member from a board or commission <br /> meeting may be regarded as excused rather than voluntary at <br /> the discretion of the board or commission, or its <br /> chairperson, if it results from illness or from a factor <br /> beyond the control of the board or commission member. <br /> (c) The chairperson of a board or commission shall inform <br /> the City Secretary of the voluntary absence of a member from <br /> three consecutive meetings of the board or commission. The <br /> City Secretary shall submit the member's position to the <br /> City Council for appointment of a replacement. <br /> SECTION 2. That if any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or <br /> paragraph of this ordinance is h,eld to be unconstitutional or <br /> invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining <br /> provisions of this ordinance shall remain in effect as if the <br /> unconstitutional or invalid portion had not been adopted. <br /> SECTION 3. That all ordinances and resolutions or parts of <br /> ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> SECTION 4. That any person violating any provision of this <br /> ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon <br /> conviction shall be subject to the penalty provided in section 1-5 <br /> of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances. <br /> SECTION 5.
