<br /> 15 <br /> anticipated that she will devote three hours per week to <br /> the project. <br /> D, Teacher Provided by the Ten County Co-Op <br /> Nancy Champion is our teacher who oversees the walk-in <br /> tutoring program at the library, Her twenty-hour-per- <br /> week position is funded by the Ten County Adult <br /> Education Co-Op. Hs, Champion is a certified public <br /> school teacher with training in bilingual education. <br /> She speaks both Spanish and English and has <br /> considerable experience working with disadvantaged <br /> populations while serving in the Peace Corps in Honduras. <br /> She has also has experience teaching civics and English <br /> to INS amnesty candidates for Refugee Rights. <br /> Ms. Champion provides direct tutoring services to <br /> adults and oversees the work of numerous volunteers who <br /> assist her during the walk-in tutoring hours. A job <br /> description for the teacher may be founà in Appendix C of <br /> the narrative. <br /> 1=i' Volunteer Tutors <br /> ....., <br /> Approximately thirty volunteers are currently providing <br /> adult tutoring at the library. During the coming year we <br /> plan to expand this number by recruiting and training at <br /> least thirty new volunteer tutors. Tutors will work with <br /> students on an appointment basis or will assist our paid <br /> teacher during the walk-in tutoring hours, A job <br /> description for our volunteer tutors is located in <br /> Appendix C, <br /> F, Cataloging Assistant <br /> Cataloging Assistant Mary Garcia is a full time staff <br /> member. She will be responsible for reclassifying <br /> materials for the new Job Information Center, She will <br /> pull card sets on materials which have been identified <br /> fer inclusion in the JIC, make appropriate adjustments to <br /> the cataloging records, and re-file the card set into the <br /> catalog. She will also pull books from the shelves, re- <br /> label them, and shelve them in their new location within <br /> the JIC. Hs, Garci a Tlli 11 type orders for materials that <br /> will be added to the collection and provide general <br /> clerical support fer the project. It is anticipated that <br /> she will spend approximately 125 hours during the year on <br /> the project. <br /> G, Other Library Staff <br /> All library staff members who work with the public will <br /> be oriented to the special needs of the target group, <br /> They will be given training with regard to the <br />
